Wiseapple Productions® is an editorial services company, providing writing, editing, website maintenance and related services.

The company's founder, John Jacobson, Jr., has more than 30 years of experience in editorial work. His career has embraced national consumer magazine publishing, book publishing, advertising, the entertainment industry, and the World Wide Web, as well as providing a range of editorial services to clients in many other fields.

Writing

Mr. Jacobson is a published writer and columnist. Although his specialty as a writer is humor and satire, his writing work and ability cover a wide range of formats, including magazine articles, instructional text/how-to material, biographical sketches, essays, interviews and events, and many others. Published work includes magazine humor columns and event columns, consumer magazine articles, a research/advertising newsletter, contributions to books, and co-authoring and publishing a cookbook.

Editing

As an editor, Mr. Jacobson also has a wide range of experience, with a special area of expertise in copy editing and editorial production. In consumer magazine publishing, he has worked for Working Woman magazine (under its founding publisher and editor Beatrice Buckler), Games magazine, and California Magazine. In book publishing he was the copy editor of Janice Pennington and Carlos de Abreu's New York Times bestseller, Husband, Lover, Spy, and was the editor and copy editor of Opening the Doors to Hollywood by Carlos de Abreu and Howard Jay Smith. He also did all of the desktop publishing work and proofing for both books.

Mr. Jacobson also provided editing/copy editing and the desktop publishing work on the exceptional novel, Dream of Venus (Or Living Pictures) by Miles Beller. Dream of Venus is a remarkable novel from a highly talented writer, a very unique, entertaining, and thought-provoking book set in the 1939 World's Fair with an uncanny view and wild romp through the World of Tomorrow yesterday, today and tomorrow.

From 1995 to 2004, Mr. Jacobson helped to build the Hollywood Network®, one of the largest independent entertainment-related sites on the World Wide Web at that time dedicated to providing direct access to Hollywood entertainment, services, and products and to bridging the gap between Hollywood and the global creative community. His work included webpage creation, editing/design, placement and maintenance, as well as related web administration functions of working closely with contributors, programmers, members, etc. The network included bulletin boards hosted by 40 or more industry experts in all fields.

Since its inception in 1997, Mr. Jacobson has also worked for the annual Hollywood Film Festival® and Hollywood Awards Gala®, assisting with the development, implementation and maintenance of its website, writing and editing for the Festival's programs, press releases and other print material, and helping with other needs of the Festival.

In addition, Mr. Jacobson's website work included ten years as the administrator of the Missing Persons CyberCenter, and he is the owner of the domain name missingpersons.com.
